When Apple launched the iPad, we turned on Vocus’ news and social media monitoring to watch what happened.   Publishers Gush Over IPad, but Their Publications Are More Restrained , read the headline of this Advertising Age article. Now that Verizon has announced its version of the iPhone , we thought we’d try it again.  Just a couple of days of data here, but nearly 25,000 tweets mentioning the Verizon iPhone.  Think consumers are excited?

Only one of the six (DeBeers) is shown here, but there was also a mention of the Coca-Cola ad, surprisingly not in the list.

Crazy to think how much an advert can change perception, although I'm not sure they would still have the same power. Does anyone really wear Old Spice? (Yes, Sales did go up an extra 100% but I'm talking over long term).
      


I agree..it is more productive to engage in conversation with Fans instead of just collecting more fans. Engaging conversations will bring in the fans.
