Else, you will be answered by the responses of your website users once it goes live, because modern internet users can easily differentiate between good and bad web design.

A number of studies published in recent years have conclusively determined that a relationship between vitamin D receptors and vitamin D3 in a more general sense are directly related to alopecia, or premature hair loss, definitely exists. However, despite the mountains of evidence compiled between all of the various studies, the scientists and researchers continue to insist that the nature of the relationship remains unclear.

The United States Food and Drug Administration has as corrupt a reputation as any agency in the federal government. While corruption in government is nothing new, the problems it causes become exacerbated when the decisions being made have a real impact on people's health and people's lives.

There is a debate raging over the introduction of what are being termed "biosimilar drugs". Some are calling for extra scrutiny given the complex nature of the drugs.

Some others are wondering if said opposition to the introduction of these new and potentially revolutionary drugs is rooted in a genuine desire to protect the consumer or a more sinister desire to protect competing interests with a powerful lobbying presence in Washington...

Interesting look at memory and how you can not only prevent losing it, but actually improve it.

People who have healthy levels of vitamin D tend to not get sick as often as the rest of the population. The problem is, according to a number of different studies, the abstracts of which are readily available online, most people do not get enough vitamin D.

One of the reasons for this is that, let's face it, most of us do not sunbathe regularly (sunbathing entailing wearing only a swimsuit or less), and there simply aren't enough foods rich enough in the absorbent form of the hormone commonly mistaken for a vitamin to gain sufficient amounts from diet alone.

That brings us to supplementation, which according to the Endocrine Society, is something all of us should strongly consider. The when it comes to vitamin D supplements is to make sure the label says "D3" (cholecalciferol) and not D2 (ergocalciferol). While the former is technically a hormone and the latter technically a vitamin, the benefits of the former relative to human health and immunodefense far outweigh those of t... read full post

This is a book containing five short stories. Hotel Lebanon and Remembering Jouni are two stories of love set in war torn Beirut in the mid seventies and are based on the real life experiences of the author. Mani is an unusual science fiction story set in the place of its title 'Mani' an area of southern Greece that has seen many UFO sightings in the last 20 years. The fourth story is about a man returning from work and being seduced by his beautiful wife. The fifth story called Sparky the Baby Green Dragon is a children's story set against the backdrop of a Greek village and is the first part of many parts to come.

Tablets have created new opportunities to generate revenue from old magazine content, which 5 years ago didn't exist. I led a number of magazine conversion projects, the first one was for American Heritage Magazine and the publisher had difficulty generating revenue from quality content. The tablet has been a game changer for archived content. Tablet users will continue to want to find that old copy of Time for old times sake....!

MELBOURNE — A new study published last week in the journal Science has unveiled the creation of the world’s thinnest wire, measuring only four atoms wide and one atom tall.

The breakthrough study showed that the fabricated wires could hold the same electrical current carrying capability of copper, and that the electrical resistivity of the wires (I~0.3 milliohm-centimeters) did not depend on the wire width.

The wires, about 10,000 times smaller than a strand of human hair, were developed by Mr Bent Weber from the Centre for Quantum Computation and Communication Technology (CQCCT) at the University of New South Wales.

Mr Weber, a PhD student, was assisted by his supervisor Professor Michelle Simmons, a leading Australian scientist, along with researchers from the University of Melbourne and Purdue University, Indiana.

  1. Peter Egan Jr.  @jffcrmr I’ve always found this topic to be of particular interest. According to that article, I’m somewhere in the middle - very logical while also oddly intuitive.

Imagine there was a scientifically complicated subject which was difficult to understand even if you had all the information. Imagine it would take you days, weeks, months to educate yourself on the subject. Imagine the subject had more rampant misinformation published than virtually any other subject published in the last 5 years. Imagine how long it would take you to assess the reams of conflicting information on the subject. Imagine the subject was further mired in political and religious controversy.
