According to his website : Dr. Rick Warren is passionate about attacking what he calls the five “Global Goliaths” – spiritual emptiness, egocentric leadership, extreme poverty, pandemic disease, and illiteracy/poor education. His goal is a second Reformation by restoring responsibility in people, credibility in churches, and civility in culture. He is a pastor, global strategist, theologian, and philanthropist. He’s been often named "America's most influential spiritual leader" and “America’s Pastor.” || http://bit.ly/tEG2HA

This guy may perhaps be pushed heavily in the coming months by the party elite. The Politico story says he thinks he can get independent support.

What I find interesting is that independents now make up a major portion of the tea party.

So, you can see how um, that ain't gonna happen..

He seems like the country club type, head in the clouds, and his civility crap is annoying.

And I thought the Bush Derangement Syndrome was bad. Apparently there's no law against making murder threats towards public figures now. The article reports other threats against her family including her parents.

  1. Peter Egan Jr.  @jatfla These people are seriously depraved.

I'm not calling for us to start photoshopping Allen West into overtly racist pictures here, but enough with the pretense of civil discourse. When Andrew Breitbart tells liberals to STFU in public with 5,000 of them just on the other side of a barrier, civility just isn't a worthwhile goal. Conservatives' vision for this country is dark, dystopian, and deeply pessimistic. It's also hypocritical and serves only the goals of their Fortune 500 masters. It does not have to be this way.

Going into the tax day rally in Portland, local Tea Party organizers had concerns about security:

Oregon Tea Party members are taking a pledge of nonviolence for Friday afternoon’s Portland-area tax day rallies.
Party officials said they feared “union supporters” might try to stir up trouble at the rallies in Pioneer Courthouse Square and in other parts of the city on the day federal income taxes are traditionally due.
Those concerns were clearly unfounded because the progressive protesters who showed up were the epitome of decorum. Oh, wait. Then there is this video. The easily offended should not click.

While I don't believe these people are actually 'teachers', I would hate it if they were. Would anyone want their children taught by the likes of these? What a sad, despicable, hateful mob. Haven't we been chided about civility and respect for those of differing views? I guess it only works one-way.

We've all heard it, the "socialization" argument. Here's a wonderful excerpt from one of our homeschool consultants, Linda Difino, on the matter.

Personally I can't imagine a better endorsement for Fox News than these idiots. Obama's attack of Fox did nothing but increase their ratings and status. Fact is Fox dwarfs the competition. And for good reason.

All this talk about political "civility" is foolish. After all, politics never has been, and never will be, "civil."

this is BEYOND despicable!!! Yet another fine example of civility from the left... Maybe, to them, this IS civil.

  1. Peter Egan Jr.  @Rightbill Not surprising. There are times when I feel tempted to stoop to their level (because quite frankly some them deserve to have some sense knocked into them), but then I remember I’m a conservative, and the feeling passes.
