Hmmm, so she must have had a hand in canceling Stargate Universe and now she is going to the Studio that owns the Stargate Franchise? How does that work? Liked by Justin Zimmer When I graduated from high school and was headed off to college everyone asked me what major I had chosen. When I told them "Spanish" they laughed and asked what I hoped to do with a major like that. I was not sure, but just knew that I loved the language, the food, the music, the warm Latin culture, the exotic countries and the beautiful people. Well, as it turns out, perhaps I was onto something. I've never regretted it. My career in advertising has been pushed forward largely because of my Spanish speaking skills. Although I wanted to study Spanish so that I could do business and work with people in Latin America it looks like the U.S. may also have a use for my Spanish speaking skills. Comcast and others are going to keep trying to put band-aids on their wounds in the hopes that they won't be more than a blister. The problem is that they are not addressing the fundamental problem which is that people see now a way out of paying for all that content they don't want, and a way to get just the content they do want, when they want it. What I'm curious about is what would happen if a major serial production decided to screw TV distribution altogether, cut costs by shooting at a warehouse in a place like Philly or Detroit and then put the program up on the web promoted through web advertising. If one project like that succeeds in a big way, that could really change everything. Liked by Chris Parandian It just doesn't sit right with me. I have a hard time with the idea of Comcast, the largest cable/internet provider buying NBC's vast media empire. Are they buying NBC to offer us more choices at a better price, or are we going to be stuck paying more for programming we don't want to watch? Why don't they focus on offering us programming packages that fit our needs, instead of buying content we might not want?
