This is a squidoo lens I built that received a purple star. It was gifted to me by Whiteoak50 on Squidoo and it is a joy to me. I would love to have your visit.

  1. divacratus  @nightbear Purple star well deserved! Absolutely loved going through your lens. I’m a big fan of animals too but unfortunately my family isn’t so I can’t really keep any at home.

  2. Tipigal  @nightbear You better believe I love animals. I love your photos.

Kids look so adorable dressed up as farm animals and other animal costumes!! Take a look...

Iowa's agriculture industry is pushing legislation that would make it illegal for animal rights activists to produce and distribute such images. Agriculture committees in the Iowa House and Senate have approved a bill that would prohibit such recordings and punish people who take agriculture jobs only to gain access to animals to record their treatment. Proposed penalties include fines of up to $7,500 and up to five years in prison. Votes by the full House and Senate have not yet been set.

"It's very transparent what agribusiness is attempting to do here," said Bradley Miller, national director of the Humane Farming Association, a California-based group dedicated to protecting farm animals from abuse. "They're trying to intimidate whistleblowers and put a chill on legitimate anti-cruelty investigations. Clearly the industry feels that it has something to hide or it wouldn't be going to these extreme and absurd lengths."

#monoculture Build your own #chicken coop video #Video via @Greenrglobe >> In animals raised in monoculture who fall sick more easily, their infections can spread very quickly; quality of eggs and health of farm workers may also be affected. More money "need" to be spent on needless vaccinations. Raising farm animals in a more natural environment does not have the problems associated with monoculture corporate-run farms. For those who have #chicken pets and some land, chicken coops allow them to forage for their natural food while fertilizing Earth, without fear of chicken pets running away.

While doing research on Charleston (SC - where I live), I stumbled across one of the most beautiful blogs I have ever seen (also from Charleston...West Virginia).

This blog is so well put together and full of lovely thoughts and ideas I couldn't help but share it.

It's quite enjoyable to read even if you aren't a crafter or live in the country. In fact, professional bloggers do well to take a look at some of the features presented on "Chickens in the Road".

As we saw in Part 1 , the information you share on social networking sites is vulnerable because they are subject to closure at any time. Site closure is not the only way your data can be lost leaked. When you sign up for a service, somebody is paying rent on a building, paying electricity to run a server, paying staff members, and paying for network service. As much as you may like to think that random companies like you so much that they provide all these things for free, that is really not ... read full post
