Sometimes business negotiations are straightforward affairs, where both parties can reach an agreement quickly and painlessly. However, sometimes negotiations take place under less than ideal circumstances. There is a looming deadline or the threat of a strike. Those circumstances lead to negotiating under pressure.

Kudos to the author for writing the blog in the link below. I am probably like many of you who never really looked at things in this way....but when I do it really makes sense.....this proves that we need to re-think about how and who we put on pedestals and remember that it is about humanity and helping others that we should be doing what it is we do day in and day out. The fame, money, power, will all come if we do enough to help others...but I know that we all have a tendency to forget about that as we jump into the fray every day ready to "get" something....

This article impacted me and my way of thinking...here is hoping it does the same for you....

Happy Reading....

Every struggle with the anxiety of taking a technology break? I like this helpful post from Whitney Johnson on her Harvard Business Review blog.

Peter Bregman's article in HBR is of great value...particular for those that experience the "shiny ball syndrome" (we're distracted easily). My experience is that you first have to be aware of that tendency and have an idea if it is having material affect in your life. If you find yourself ending the day without any sense, or little sense of what you've accomplished, begin to keep track. What do you say are the most important things that you need to do? What do you actually do? What are you doing instead of your stated goals?

Until the gap between your awareness, understanding the material affect, and what you want to do different is large enough there won't be any change. First things first, is focus an issue? Spend some time understanding that in your life. For many people they are ASTOUNDED by their lack of productivity.

Next step...what do you want to do about it. Peter's article can help. Let me know how it goes.
