Tablets have created new opportunities to generate revenue from old magazine content, which 5 years ago didn't exist. I led a number of magazine conversion projects, the first one was for American Heritage Magazine and the publisher had difficulty generating revenue from quality content. The tablet has been a game changer for archived content. Tablet users will continue to want to find that old copy of Time for old times sake....! While most media deals involve digital technologies - print deals are still happening. Not to long ago Google became a print publisher by purchasing Zagat. Fortunately for the NYTimes, its paywall is paying off, according to Ryan Chittum of http://www.cjr.org and this deal will help fund their online activities. Here's a PubMed abstract about the effects of Vitamin D3 in preventing the flu. Yes, geeks like me read the abstract and the studies, but that isn't necessary. If you don't have the time or inclination check out the details for yourself, trust me when I say that Vitamin D3 supplements can be very effective in reducing the incidence of flu. A wise person will take extra Vitamin D3 during the cold/flu season - and get plenty of sunshine during the rest of the year. Liked by Peter Egan Jr. Susie Lehto aka Tipi the Tipigal is a publisher of Squidoo Lenses. She has already published more than 175 wonderful lenses. Being a creative artist, she very much love art works, reading and meditation. Or in other words, Tipi has great taste. She also loves The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks, The Happy Snowman, Better Homes and Gardens, Gardening and Quizzes. This isn't Buffett's first media holding - and it doesn't seem like its his last. The Oracle of Omaha might see something that everyone else is missing or he's got a trick up his sleeve. Something caused Buffett to change his stance on Newspapers. From the outside, this looks like a no win deal, producing a low return on investment, with a high risk of loss as a result of the price paid. I am eager to see how it turns out. In Condom Nation, Lord, a former historian for the Public Health Service, has given us a carefully researched and lively history of the federal government’s role in ensuring the health of America. It is also a pointed rejoinder to a nation awash in incredibly irresponsible sexuality, yet terribly fearful of sex education. It's difficult to understand what value this new metric has to the public, however, I do like the new insights. Facebook has finally provided an easier to understand and more meaningful "insight" for Page Admins. Legacy isn't strong enough. Genius is more appropriate. Steve Jobs dies, his brilliance will be missed but he still shines on. Marketing Brilliance never really DIES...... If you could have a conversation with him, what would you ask? Now that he is gone, the world will know more about him than when he was living. His book comes out this month. He was a genius...From the Latin verb gigno, genui, genitus, "to bring into being, create, produce." Well done Steve Jobs. We appreciate your genius. Thank you. Rest in Peace. You may want to, but you can't anymore. The stuff is in our drinking water. It was was found to be present in source water of 15 out of 19 drinking water treatment plants. As much as I dislike sucralose, there are certainly other, more toxic substances in the water supply and they aren't being removed through standard treatments. The really sad part is that it will just continue to get worse. What are you going to do about it? |
