If this doesn’t bring people to Church, what will? A Church in Michigan has opened a built-in tattoo parlor, and the Reverend himself sports two tattoos.

Kopimism – a belief in the sacred right to share files – has been recognized as an official religion in Sweden, at the end of last year.

“Information is holy and copying is a sacrament. Information holds a value, in itself and in what it contains, and the value multiplies through copying. Therefore, copying is central for the organisation and its members.” This is how Kopimism is described on the official website of the Missionary Church of Kopimism. Apparently, ever since 2010, a groups of self-confessed file-sharing pirates have been trying to get file sharing recognized as an official religion. After having their claim denied several times, they’ve finally seen their dream fulfilled in late December 2011, when Kompimism was officially acknowledged as a legal religion. The Church hopes its new sacred status will remove the legal stigma associated with file sharing.“I think that more people will have the courage to step out as Kopimists. Maybe not in the public, but at

For a boomer, and likely others, Seth Godin's piece today echoed the truth of our world. The tings we assume might have some permanence, don't. The hours we waste worrying about the future...well, are wasted. The rate of change that our assumptions, what we think about the world is changing is the speed of light. If you are 60, think about your grandfather. He likely lived all his life without having many doubts/challenges to how he saw the world. Think of your father. Yourself. Now think about your great grandchildren. Yikes! Learning to deal with chaos and impermanence will likely be a permanent state. Maybe we'll worry about the future less, because the future came and went. Be present. Have a great 2012.

This article, written by a Muslim believer and columnist, condemns violence against Christians (and all believers) on Islamic grounds, including scriptural references for the writer's position drawn from the Qur'an

Why the meaning of Christmas transcends religion.

This is a great quote for illustrating where we came from and what our roots were. Many today insist that our religion (Christianity) was completely irrelevant and incidental to our founding, traditions, more's and culture. Quotes like this one abound and say otherwise.

It is quoted in Cleon Skousen's "The 5000 Year Leap", which we will be using in a read and discuss group starting January 22, 2012 in Enid, OK.

Cameroon is off his trolley!.In this day and age, you,d have thought that people would wake up to the fact that morality is not the property of the church to be used to bludgeon people into following their particular fantasy.Morality is a choice we make to enable us to handle life and the choices presented to us.

Easy to see how the story of Osama Bin Laden's death in Pakistan this year rated high on the charts for political reasons, but I am surprised that the religious press also gave this a #1 ranking. || http://bit.ly/uWxpJn

For all of their animosity toward Christians, a recent study released by the University of Oregon shows that atheists "tended to find believers to be more trustworthy" than other atheists. The study found "Christians, Muslims, gay men, feminists or Jewish people" were all considered more trustworthy than an atheist.

"Only rapists were distrusted to a comparable degree," the report found.

One goal was to describe the science I'm interested in today: the physics happening at the LHC and searches for dark matter. But I also wanted to clarify the nature of science: what it means to be right and wrong, what it means to make measurements, and the roles of uncertainty, risk and creativity.

While most of us know little about their religion, we are more familiar with their journalism. The Christian Science Monitor has a motto: "To injure no man, but to bless all mankind," but that slogan would not generally apply to the Twitterverse today, as this report will attest.

...Last week, the front-runner for the Republican nomination for president suggested forcing poor school children to work at schools mopping floors and called child labor laws stupid. Other Republicans have proposed eliminating the federal minimum wage and labor laws to enrich corporations’ bottom line.

While generations of Christians have shared the commitment of Tim Tebow, this current generation can not accept the FACT that, for him, it's real. They mock, they scorn, they psychoanalyze, etc.... We'll see how his football career turns out but I have no doubt about his personal life of faith. Even if he falls/fails (which is not unknown or unexpected in the Christian Life) the core is there. Time will tell if he continues to have an impact on the Sports World. So far, they can't seem to leave him alone. Gee....I wonder why?
