Americans will have enough confidence to invest themselves in our economy only when the basic tenets of the free market are observed. Chief among them is private property, the guarantee that the government will not seize a citizen’s belongings through confiscatory taxation or other means. Consumer sovereignty is the individual’s right to freely use his purchasing power, which in turn signals to suppliers what and how much to produce. Fair competition is the even playing field where all Americans play by the same rules and are judged by the same standards. Parenthetically, I apologize to those of you who consider these basic tenets of capitalism - and therefore, the basic tenets of America’s historical success itself - to be elementary. I’ve included them here only because some prominent educators, such as Saul Alinsky, Jeremiah Wright and Bill Ayers, evidently have failed to instruct their star pupil of these undeniable fundamentals of America. The Japanese tsunami, th... read full post Vienna, OH - "This is about the haves and the have nots," a union protestor in an Obama beanie stated outside a Chamber of Commerce luncheon Thursday at the Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport where the guest speaker was Ohio Governor John Kasich. "We are the machines that they use to do their work." This is the class warfare called for by Karl Marx's communism and Saul Alinsky's radicalism to achieve "social justice." Liked by Peter Egan Jr. Very sad tragedy. I don't understand how there wasn't sufficient security, how the lunatic was able to get so many shots out without security people putting a bullet or 10 through his non-functional brain... also where & how he got a gun and another example of mentally unstable ideolog walking around without anyone paying attention... until it's too late. These kinds of people shouldn't become household names... nor should they be walking the streets or even attempting to procure a weapon of any kind. health-care-industry-killing Obamacare legislation. Reid, another self-serving Democrat rat will continue to run the Senate into the ground. Frank and Dodd have completely destroyed the American housing, finance, and banking markets. Let’s not forget that all those extra-Congressional appointed, moronic czars, wholly Liberal/Marxist/Leftist/Socialist sympathizers, are now in charge of totally screwing-up what remains of American government. Unions continue to demolish and pilfer GM, Chrysler, and an enormous swath of the American education system. The American people’s opinion of Congress has never been lower. American’s opinion of Obama continues to decline. Some think that hope, change, and prospects for America’s future are waning. And, yet, all these arrogant clowns, want a revolution. A revolution from what or from whom? Political correctness, Socialism, terrorists, corruption, class warfare, and big government have defined Liberals, for decades. When Leftists ... read full post That’s why Obama could befriend such unrepentant former terrorists as Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn, and take inspiration from Jeremiah Wright, a black-liberation theologist... ...But Alinskyites are more sophisticated, patient, and practical. They bore in, hollowing out the system from within, appropriating the appearance and argot of mainstream society. Their single, animating ambition is to overthrow the capitalist social order, which they claim to see as racist, corrupt, exploitative, imperialist, etc... ...Apart from that goal, everything else — from the public option to Afghanistan — is negotiable: They reserve the right to take any position on any matter, to say anything at any time, based on the ebb and flow of popular opinion. That keeps them politically viable while they radically transform society. Transform it into what, they haven’t worked out in great detail — except that it will be perfect, communal, equal, and just. Society has good reason to fea... read full post We now have two strong strands emerging in the development of Big Society community organisers, and organising. The other day NESTA announced their Neighbourhood Challenge programme under which a number of organisations will be funded for a year to experiment with different types of organising in 10 areas, and then to share experience. Last week more details emerged of the bigger programme originally announced by David Cameron at the Big Society manifesto launch in March: a "Neighbourhood army" of 5,000 full-time, professional community organisers who will be trained with the skills they need to identify local community leaders, bring communities together, help people start their own neighbourhood groups, and give communities the help they need to take control and tackle their problems". The Office for Civil Society (OCS) announced a tender (deadline 23rd December 2010) for a National Partner to further develop, implement and manage the programme. Nick Bird has produced a briefing... read full post inspiring young Barack Obama to become a community organizer. The dialectical game plan of the Obama presidency was obvious: use the ongoing financial crisis sparked by subprime mortgage lending to generate momentum for fundamental restructuring of the economy. Blame Bush and big business for the problems, and use resentment arising from real economic suffering to push for game-changers like ObamaCare and Cap and Trade, putting government in charge of the commanding heights of the economy. Once private enterprise was so constrained and limited, further systemic changes would be child's play. With everyone dependent on government approval for health care, carbon emissions, college loans, and jobs, no countervailing forces would be strong enough to limit the power of the statists. No longer would the power of capitalism dictate the terms under which Americans live. ... A segment of the public, of course, is happy to have government provide for their needs, but it is neither lar... read full post |
