It's always good to have a friend who is straight forward and blunt. Someone who will tell you like it is, without all the sugar coating to make it go down better. We desperately need that some times. I do anyway.

I ran across this quote this morning on the Sovereign Grace Ministries website by Charles Spurgeon and that is how it struck me. That is how his preaching often strikes me and why I enjoy him so much. He's straight forward and to the point. He's sharp and his words are penetrating.

What he says below is a humbling truth to remember and keep in mind whenever we are frustrated by another's opinion of us.. It is a sobering reminder that while someone else's judgment may be off, they only know the half of it and there may be much grace to be found in it's inaccuracy.

This is the problem. God help us (including me) to stop trying to figure it out and stop trying to do and simple rend our hearts at and by means of the Cross and trust what Jesus has already done.

Ah but that faith, that mustard seed that has been planted in this broken ground is taking root and mountains must move and be cast into the sea. They must become plains (Zechariah 4:6-7). But not by my might, nor my power, but by the Holy Spirit within me.

I actually read this devo this morning. Conversation I had later confirmed that this is a Word I need. Even if for a season, this is a truth I need to learn & apply.

Christians! Pray through every hurt and wrong; put them ALL in God's big hands and leave them there!
