I am not usually political, but when you see thing that do not make a lot sense, you have to question the use of our Tax $$$ and how they are being use. What has been is what will be, and what has been done is what will be done; there is nothing new under the sun. Ecclesiastes 1:9 (HCSB) The power sought by the federal government to force its will upon the people started long before President Obama took office. President Hamilton thought that the use of military force against the American people was justified to promote his unpopular Whiskey Tax. Does this sound familiar to anyone? The new tax is Obamacare, the force of Law is being waged against the states and the people by the Government and the Supreme Court. Although we the people fought and protested fehemently against the passing of Obamacare our 'representatives" refused to listen to us and passed the bill anyway, forcing all Americans to pay the tax thus imposed. I guess we have not yet learned from history. Maybe this time "we the people" will win this war against our freedoms. We paid billions to develop the thing and now we're paying people to buy them. Shocking... Well, maybe not.. Liked by merriemarie Peter Egan Jr. The Senate passed HR 3630 Saturday to the approval of President Obama, as reported in the article Obama Approves Keystone Pipeline Agreement, Payroll Tax Holiday Extension. In the article, I erroneously reported that the payroll tax extension was for a year as originally passed by the House, but was actually reduced to two months in the Senate. But questions persist about whether money was handed out elsewhere with any regard for risk assessment or need. And the gap in accounting for the decade-long spending spree is undeniable. The U.S. Homeland Security Department says it doesn’t closely track what’s been bought with its tax dollars or how the equipment is used. State and local governments don’t maintain uniform records either. Dick Lugar (R-IN) has been a Senator for so long, he's lost touch with the way things work outside the Senate cloakroom. Lugar called for the House to pass the Senate's bill that extends the current payroll tax rate by two months because it was "best for the country". Yet as The Right Sphere reports, that will cause huge problems for the businesses who have to implement it. A little common sense would show why. Businesses that calculate payroll taxes do so with accounting payroll software. It takes time for these non-trivial changes to software and business practices to be implemented. A payroll tax switchover is already cooked in to most accounting packages, so that the planned payroll tax changes will happen automatically when current law would have them change (Jauary 1). Because payroll software needs accuracy, any significant alteration will take weeks to plan and execute, passing the window for the extension. As Rep Renee Ellmers (R,NC02) said in her press release... read full post President Obama approved H.R. 3630, the Middle Class Tax Relief and Job Creation Act of 2011 Saturday. The bill extends for a year the Social Security payroll tax cut set to expire at the end of 2011 and yet another extension to unemployment compensation. Notably, the bill allows for mandatory drug testing and denial of benefits for those who test positive for illicit drugs. Recipients must... @doodleicious The strange thing is it’s business as usual. Nothing has changed. The rich get richer. The banksters haven’t gone to jail. The people continue to bail them out and from what I’ve heard of the Republican race, the political system remains completely corrupt. It doesn’t leave one feeling too optimistic for the future of the human race. It makes you wonder what it will take to wake people up. Occupy Wall Street was a breadth of fresh air, but new laws allowing the President to jail anyone he doesn’t like, indefinitely without due process, any where in the world without regard to national borders, is about as frightening as anything I’ve heard since the days of Hitler or Stalin. Corporations purchase their politicians and WE THE PEOPLE go without true representation. War drums are beating louder even with the so called end to the war with Iraq. I think I’ll make myself a tin hat and start working on a fallout shelter.
